About Chris Higgins
Chris' musical journey began in the mid 70s in Shropshire forming a band on leaving school called 'Jasper' and in fact Chris Walliams original member of Jasper still plays in Chris's Live "Imaginary Band" from time to time along with Guitarist Roger Clark
Chris and one other member of 'Jasper', Ian Law (Bass) went on to form the successful 'Shady Lady' 4 piece band consisting of Dave Alexander (Guitar B/Vocals), Ian Law (Bass Guitar B/Vocals) & Rich Robey (Drums B/Vocals)…..(there were no Shady Ladies involved)
After the bands Chris played in the duo 'Mixer' with Guitarist Rob Rushton before finally working as a solo act in the mid 80s
This solo work led to a Saturday night prime time TV appearance in 1990 in a new show to television called 'Stars in Their Eyes' where in Series 1 Show 2 he won performing Chris de Burgh's hit 'The Lady in Red' he went on to appear in 2 more shows including the Christmas Special
This success led to various theatre shows in the UK and TV appearances around the world.
However, he always kept his roots in Shropshire as he was married and still is to 'The One' and in the 90s he had a young family and wanted to be with them as much as possible turning down Cruises and International tours in favour of one night gigs around the UK
After over a 25 year break from public performances, apart from a few friend's parties, in 2024 he decided to dust off the Ovation (guitar) and perform again but this time selecting the venues.
With a deep love for the timeless hits of his youth he aims to share that passion, bringing authentic guitar and vocal performances, complemented by his uniquely crafted backing tracks he produces in his own "Secret Garden Studios" from scratch.
